Terms of use

These terms are an agreement between you and Metamorphic Mobile, of Singapore ("we", "us"), for using the Mealoop app and mealoop.app. By using Mealoop you agree to them. Our privacy policy explains how we handle your data.

1. Your account

• You need to be at least 13 to use Mealoop, and old enough to agree to these terms where you live.
• Keep your sign-in to yourself. You're responsible for what happens in your account.
• You can delete your account at any time, in Settings → Account.

2. Kitchens are shared

A kitchen is a shared space: everyone in it can see and change its recipes, plans and lists. Owners can invite and remove people. Only invite people you trust, and be kind to the ones you plan with.

3. Your content

• What you save stays yours. You give us permission to store it, process it, and show it to you and your kitchen, only so we can run Mealoop. That permission ends when you delete it.
• Save recipes for your own household. Many recipes belong to the people who wrote them: credit and support the creators you cook from, and don't use Mealoop to republish their work.
• Don't upload anything unlawful, or anything you don't have the right to use.

4. Reading recipes with AI

Mealoop uses AI to read recipes from links and photos, translate them, and build your grocery list. It's usually right, but not always: it can miss an ingredient, misread an amount, or get a step out of order. Check a recipe before you cook it, especially amounts, cooking times and temperatures.

Mealoop doesn't check recipes for allergens or dietary needs, and nothing in it is medical, nutritional or food-safety advice. If you or someone you cook for has an allergy or a dietary need, check every ingredient and its label yourself.

5. Fair use

Don't misuse Mealoop: no attempts to get into other people's kitchens or our systems, no automated or bulk use, no reselling the service, and nothing that harms other people or Mealoop. Some features, like AI captures and translations, have limits so the service stays fast and fair for everyone. We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms. Where we can, we'll tell you first and let you export your recipes.

6. Mealoop Plus

Mealoop is free to use, with optional paid features (Mealoop Plus). If you subscribe:

• You buy through the App Store. Apple handles payment, renewal and refunds under its terms, and the price and what's included are shown before you pay.
• A subscription renews automatically unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the end of the period. Cancel in your iPhone's Settings → Apple ID → Subscriptions.
• If a free trial is offered, you're charged when it ends unless you cancel before then.
• One subscription covers your whole kitchen. If Plus ends, nothing you saved is deleted.

7. Changes to Mealoop

We keep improving Mealoop, so features may change, and we may stop offering one. If we ever close Mealoop, we'll give you at least 30 days' notice and a way to export your recipes.

8. No guarantees

We work hard to keep Mealoop reliable, but we provide it "as is" and can't promise it will always be available, error-free, or right about every recipe. Back up anything you can't bear to lose: the export in Settings → Your recipes is there for that.

9. Our liability

As far as the law allows, we aren't liable for indirect or consequential losses, or for anything that comes from relying on a recipe without checking it. Where we are liable, our total liability is limited to what you paid us for Mealoop in the 12 months before the claim. Nothing here limits rights you have by law as a consumer, or liability that can't be limited.

10. Apple

If you got Mealoop from the App Store, these terms are between you and us, not Apple. Apple isn't responsible for Mealoop or its support, and Apple's standard Licensed Application End User License Agreement also applies.

11. The law

These terms are governed by the laws of Singapore. If there's a dispute, we'd like to hear about it first: most things can be sorted out by email. Otherwise, the courts of Singapore decide, unless the law where you live gives you the right to go to your local courts.

12. Changes to these terms

If we change these terms, we'll update the date at the top. If a change matters, we'll tell you in the app before it applies. Carrying on using Mealoop after that means you accept the new terms.
